An Irresistable Challenge

Samoa Water is more than just a company bottling beverages as part of a manufacturing process.

Samoa Water is "a real bottler" in more ways than one.

Through the manufacturing of The South Pacific Water Co, new opportunities have arisen as already outlined, but regionally and globally; and not only for us, but for you as the consumer.

Global Opportunities Abound - Let's Celebrate.

What's truly irresistible is striving for good health for all, and some bottled waters are just better for you than others.

What's also truly irresistible is striving for good Safe Water For All, and some village projects are just better for you than others.

And allowing Samoa's rivers to flow into the sea makes little sense as well. Capturing these valuable water resources, and sharing them with the world again and again, is another irresistible challenge.

And Samoa Watercould not resist improving on its bottle.  www.goody.com.au  has offered a challenge that is in itself even more irresistible. So how do we make this transition to a more environmentally-friendly bottle? And if it's a more expensive bottle, would you still buy The South Pacific Water Co? Could you really resist this offer?

And Samoa alone needs more water distribution, greater access to purified water and improved water safety in the villages. Samoa Waternow offers many village-based development options at an ever-increasing level.

And with a true tourism focus, the real challenge is to entice visitors to Samoa from overseas by off-setting their carbon costs to the Planet. And this is being done in Samoa by Samoa Waterat present, as outlined above.

But, some of us just cannot resist taking global climate change a little more seriously.

So what does bottled water have to do with climate change, carbon emissions, global warming, climate-related diseases, climate justice and tourism?

It's irresistibly simple.

We are all looking for ways to decrease our carbon emissions worldwide, reducing the global CO² levels in the atmosphere even further, and also finding new ways to absorb more carbon from the carbon cycle (this can be done by selecting tree species that absorb more CO² than say other tree species: mangroves, for example, absorb nearly 3 times as much CO² as most other tree species).

Samoa, on the other hand, just got funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to declare its largest mangrove forest, in Vaiusu Bay, as a new Marine National Park. Over $USD500,000 will be spent with 7 coastal villages restoring this mangrove habitat and protecting it. And Samoa Wateris sponsoring the replanting of these valuable mangroves in Vaiusu Bay.

And the Government of Samoa has just spent $SAT26Million buying-up lands for wildlife conservation purposes, including more freehold mangroves. So, Samoa Waterwill do whatever it can to support these commendable initiatives .

No other South Pacific Island nation can boast this. And no other South Pacific bottled water company can boast this. And The South Pacific Water Company will not be able to resist planting-out more native rainforest trees in its 7,000 acre Nature Reserve.

And what's really irresistible now is that we can all finally help our favorite holiday destinations to earn more carbon credits by encouraging them all to plant-out new forest plantations, or even just avoid any further deforestation: this can be seen as yet another positive step being made at your favorite holiday destination.

So, if there is an element of irresistibility in your consciousness, then just ask your travel agent about Samoa before booking your next holiday.

"Does Samoa make a positive national effort to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions at all levels of society, especially within its tourism sector?”

And the answer is YES.

The Government of Samoa recently released the National Greenhouse Gas Abatement Strategy (2008-2018).

And if that was not enough, then Samoa also has a National Policy on Combating Climate Change. Sounds serious.

And, if that's not enough, Samoa has a Status of the Implementation of the National Adaptation Program of Action (NAPA) for Climate Change (August, 2008).

So, as you can see, it is an irresistible challenge for a company like Samoa Artesian Water. We are just so proud to be part of this process, right there at the forefront of global climate change initiatives, setting a benchmark for all Pacific Island Countries, including FIJI.
