An Inconvenient Truth

The Samoa Artesian Water has to admit that things are not all that kosher in Samoa, simply because we are very much an integral component of this global village.

And this is the inconvenient truth, inconvenient because we have to address matters that take us away from our normal luxurious daily lifestyles.

We'd rather be dancing to the Gods.

So, The Samoa Artesian Water is taking the following steps, either on its own or along with the entire community in Samoa, and the rest of the world if you all care to join us.

Displacing fossil fuels, like petrol and diesel, with safer bio-fuels, such as coconut oil, is another approach that we can all take. We already run one of our Toyotas on 100% coconut oil, less carbon foot printing and better for our farmers.

Replacing diesel generators for electricity production with hydro-power generation is another option that Samoa has taken seriously in the past few years, generating up to 40% of its power from hydro-schemes. This figure could easily go to 80% with further sophisticated technologies being adopted soon in Samoa, and with a little more expenditure thanks to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Global Environment Facility Pacific Alliance of Sustainability (GEF-PAS).

And hotels within a rapidly expanding tourism sector in Samoa are also being asked to introduce even more energy efficiency measures within their hotels. The sky is the limit, but our skies also have limits. Either way, we need to better protect our natural resources, our water, our air, our soils, especially our corals as these are the real indicators of whether Man is as intelligent as he thinks he is. Just ask the corals?

Somehow, The Samoa Artesian Water is recognizing this challenge to do more good for the Globe. It is becoming irresistible, a pre-occupation, a challenge to just see how many corners can be smoothed, how many lives can be impacted positively through this new Internationally Certified State-of-the-Art bottling process, and this new approach to community development as a rapidly emerging environpreneurs.

The Samoa Artesian Water is, therefore, proud to be at the forefront of these exciting environmental, socio-economic, cultural, medical and even epistemological endeavors.

Thanks to Carbon War Room's Island Nation Program and its intent to make Samoa 100% renewable by 2015, businesses like Samoa Artesian Water will soon be able to reduce their carbon footprints even further.
In addition, www.carboNZero.co.nz offers another carbon neutral certification programme that Samoa Artesian Water may be keen to consider. NZ needs to be commended for taking these Planet-friendly initiatives.
In Samoa, we can either continue to log our rainforests or sell the water from these watersheds and ancient aquifers. I know which option I would prefer.
Manuia and Cheers.

I am real impressed with a company that is taking charge for a positive approach.

As an individual who has been focusing on empowering youth towards healthy green lifestyles, it will be a great honor to contribute in any way to making Samoan Water hit the mainland.

Just got off the phone with my close college friend Herkey Marxen. He got me up to speed on whom he was working for, and I looked up Samoa Artesian Water, and I must say I am impressed. It looks as if you are a forward thinking company, I admire the respect for the environment. It continues in the same vein as wonderful drinking water, of which I am to partake when I am in Las Vegas next. Apparently it is very good. I look forward to trying it. Kudos again for your green stance.
